There are a number of AG opinions on the legality of providing uniforms for employees of various public entities. Some of those opinions are: AG Op. No. 02-0476 AG Op. No. 01-0164 AG Op. No. 88-0164 These opinions state the uniforms must remain the property of the public entity, otherwise the entity would be in violation of Article VII Section 14 of the Louisiana Constitution.
