The purchase of software by a political subdivision when the amount exceeded $60,000 would require that the purchase be advertised and let through bids under Public Bid Law.
However, as an alternative, the political subdivision could procure the software through an RFP method under the Political Subdivisions Telecommunications and Data Processing Procurement Law, R.S. 38:2234, et seq.
R.S. 38:2237 provides the procedures for the political subdivision to utilize an RFP method in lieu of using Public Bid in order to procure the software.Louisiana Legislative Auditor website: 06/22/2026 08:28:04 PM |
