In the case of R.S. 33:441(A)(1), the statute authorizes that the mayor, or magistrate if one is appointed, may impose court costs of up to $30 for each offense that the individual is convicted of.
Therefore, if an individual is convicted of three separate offenses listed on one ticket, the mayor may, but is not required to, assess up to $90 in costs to the individual.
