Yes, the Parish under its police power may remove/secure dangerous structures for the public health, safety and welfare. See R.S. 33:4761 et seq. for procedures for the removal of these dangerous structures. The cost associated with the removal are charged against the property via a lien (R.S. 33:4766) that may be enforced either in a court procedure or as a tax lien (R.S. 33:4766(E)(1)).
