Answer

The law, R.S. 38:2237.1, requires that prior to procurement of any telecommunications or video surveillance equipment or services by agencies and political subdivisions of the State that the vendor shall provide documentation by affidavit that the equipment or services to be procured are not prohibited telecommunications or video surveillance equipment or services as defined in R.S. 39:1753.1(A) is not retroactive. Therefore, the equipment purchased from this vendor prior to the law going into effect is okay; however, going forward, without an affidavit, the City may not continue to purchase with this vendor in the future.
