The Attorney General has stated that a public entity is required to treat the process as two distinct events , i.e. Surplus of the old car under R.S. 33:4712 and R.S. 49:125, and Procurement of the used truck in accordance with R.S. 38:2212.1. The Assessor may also want to contact the Louisiana Property Assistance Agency (LPAA) which conducts routine auctions of state property (and in the past has assisted political subdivisions in selling their property.)
