Other than the provisions in R.S. 38:2212.1, the law does not generally specify the types and level of detail that must be documented for procurement by political subdivisions of the state. The Best Practices Guidance provided by the Louisiana Legislative Auditor's office is intended to assist local political entities in complying with the provisions of the law as well as ensuring that public entities are acting prudently as to their use of public funds. Again, the JDC would also be required to comply with any Supreme Court Rules, internal rules, or any other judicial branch rules on the expenditure of any court funds, including any rules regarding documentation.
