Any purchases of equipment, materials, and supplies using LGAP funds are subject to the Public Bid Law. Because this is a single contract for both the purchase of a generator ($47,000) and its installation which is greater than $60,000, the contract must be bid out. The Attorney General has noted that if these were two separate contracts, the contract for installation being a service contract would not need to be bid. However, since it is one contract from the same vendor and the total amount exceeds $60,000, it should be bid.
