Recordings of the open portions of public meetings in the custody or control of public bodies are public records which are subject to public review (inspection or obtain copies). The public records law provides for a minimum of two-year retention of such recordings. See R.S. 44:36(G)

Any recordings of portions of meetings that are properly held in executive session are not subject to public review. See AG Op. No. 03-0124
